I just watched the Pre-Air of Leverage, it is very good. In a way, much better than the disappointing TV series”Chuck”. I noticed that they were using (like most computer IT TV series will do) iPhone and Apple products. Just maybe they have not stike a deal with Apple.. So they kinda used a sticker to paste over and covered the “Apple” logo.

This made the products less appealing and less sexy… Can big Apple do something?

Wrote a few articles about using this modem with telkomself flash. Just tried yesterday and found out that I got a problem in connecting the modem to the net.

My settings with Sierra Wireless Watcher is correct. However, I just could not understand what’s wrong. So I took another look into my System Preferences and found this:

My “unnamed” modem seems to be calling and connecting everytime I tried to connect via Sierra Wireless. However, it failed to do so. Until I re-enter the Account Name and telephone number.

*99# should be the standard. I have this too with Indosat 3G. The following picture is my settings with Telkomsel and Sierra Wireless:

And yes, IndoSUCKS and TelkomSUCKS.. Their services truly sucks..

On my earlier post, I mentioned about using Joomla (+jomsocial) to create a staff portal for my staff, and also, using google apps to create online documents the company could sync the data on real-time. The reason for having this is important, but hard to explain. If only you can see how many people has been employed just to “enter & compiling” the data, you will understand what I’m trying to say.

So I came up with a system, on my free time, with only one agenda in mind; to solve this misery once and for all.

Does it make sense to you that you have to wait for data to compile data then resend data and cross-reference data as to make sure you have the right data? How much time had been wasted on this very cycle?

I created a online sales spreadsheet so the supervisors don’t have to send huge attachment (Internet is still rather slow in Indo), they still go back to the whole way. I created online staff tracking, no one give a darn. I created the online store schedule and physical stock tracking, no one give a shit.

They LOVE to, key in data, send via online and let their Boss do the manual work. A company who claims to move forward, even regional, could not do so if their information are all 2 – 3 days lagging behind.

And so I do the programming and linking. For pea sake, I even created a online access for respective Head Of Departments, via iPhone or iPod Touch! Another simple link has been created for BlackBerry users!

With a few easy buttons to access all your important information..

You can fill in a form easily, and every data will be collected in a online spreadsheet that host all the entries. By doing so, we don’t have to r-compile any data.

With google documents and iPhone, you can zoom in and out easily. Google spreadsheet make it so easy for you. At this point, in order to prevent unauthorized access, you can even publish your data as webpage. So at this point, it can be a view access only.

At any point of time, you can view your overall assests in every store. This can include Singapore, Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya and more..

However.. no one seems to be interested. I’m like writing proposal and talking to air. When I proposed this, all I got is a “Thank You very much” + “Please go ahead”.

So where is the support? What are my budget and objectives, meetings and corroborate?? So? My part time job on my free time again? I’m not even talking about benefits here, I’m also not talking about pay increment here. I’m talking about the “support” which I should entitled to if we are to work on a project.

And I’m very disappointed with the response and attitude that was given to this project. My idea is not all perfect, this I know. No one is interested in this project, this I also know. As in this point of talking, I have halt the development of this portal for Indonesia and concentrate to do one similar type for Singapore.

I quite give up on the culture here; hiring more people to do the same amount of job.
