I’d wrote about Software Piracy on my blog not too long ago. It is very stunning and amazing.

Went to the same mall again not too long ago. Found out that they have even produced software to help retailer to jailbreak iPhone, diagnose iPhone etc…

Not bad eh?

Well, this is not a new product. Even if you are not living in the states, you must have read enough Macworld or PC mags to know this product.

I remembered when it became popular, there were tons of similar China’s “eyewear” flooding the South East Asia markets, trying very hard to be the alternative as Myvu (at that time) decided to concentrate on the States.

Those China-wannabes were horrible. Their bulky design made it almost impossible to wear. The weight itself contributed 40% of the problems. Then, you have bulky connectors that connects to computers, video players, but nothing to video iPod.

Doesn’t make sense right? What also doesn’t made sense was the Standard Retail Price of these wannabes, they were almost the same price with Myvu personel viewer, if not more expensive!

Those were the crazy days..

However, Myvu have entered Singapore market officially. Now in major IT mall, you are able to see their booth displaying their latest models.

The two different models are Myvu solo edition and crystal edition. The first offer VCD quality of viewing (about 320 by 240 resolution). However, when you watch it, the viewing is like watching cinema in the last seat behind.

The latter offer DVD quality of viewing (about 640 by 480). Same feeling, but when you view it, the screen is bigger and clearer in your personal viewer.

Guess, that’s the difference in paying $166 (Sing), and $468 (Sing). However, the earphones are supposely from “Ultimate”. I myself have no complaint about the sound quality.

Both retail boxes positioned themselves as a video viewer that work with most popular media players like iPod, Zune, camcorder or video player.

Well, it can work with your game console if you know the connections you need.

However, things are not as easy as they may seem. The cheaper version with lower video quality works with 5th Generation iPod (out of the box). If you are looking to connect to iPod Classic, new iPod nano, iPod Touch or even your 2G and 3G iPhone, you need to purchase the universal cable separately.

And, it is not available anywhere. You need to order online. This universal cable works with your Myvu, without additional software or firmware upgrade.

Then again, if you purchased the crystal edition, it comes with the universal cable! That is the only viewer that work out of the box for you if you have the latest iPods of iPhone.

Lucky for me, I still keep my 5th Gen white iPod. The only thing about using it is battery that drains when you set your iPod video settings to “tv-out”.

I tried to toy around with it, and found that the best setting is PAL. Remember to change the ear bud to a smaller size. The ones attached to the viewer are obviously not the right size for Asians.

So why am I writing this article? Simply because the sales staff selling this gadget have no idea what they are selling. Equipped with zero product knowledge, they will say “YES” to every question you ask.. Sigh!!!

Have been spending the last two days building a site for my Infinite Staff. Using FaceBook is good, but well, there are sensitive information that cannot be shared after all.

Beside, having all staff to have an FaceBook Account don’t make sense too. I am also skeptical about their productivity if they are logged in all day with FaceBook.

I installed Joomla for www.infiniteasia.com/staff

I liked Joomla, always believe that it is much better than other CMS. However, after two days of configurations, I realized that there is a problem with the “Poll”.

If you have set a Poll, you will not see the posting until you select so. Weird? Just go to “/Extensions/Module Manager” and publish your poll.

Then after doing so, you will be able to see the Poll on your desired page. However, you will see the following error when you try to vote:

“404 – Component not found screen with the following information:

You may not be able to visit this page because of:

Home Page ”

What the hell..

So after long hours of searching and debugging.. I discovered that switching off Search Engine Friendly to “NO” under Global Configuration meant that it started working again. 

I don’t agree that this is the correct solution. But until some updates and fixes has been released, this jolly well will be the only answer to the Poll problem.

I never like Jakarta Airport. I believes that most Indonesian do not like it too. There are just too many things to talk about it. However, I just cut short, skip the corruption part and go straight to the little facts you should pay attention to, if you are travelling for the first time to Jakarta (Indonesia).

1. Green Helpers

These Airport helpers in green uniform will be holding on to trolleys, waiting at one corner beside the luggage collection point… They “look” friendly enough, asking you if you need help..

But there is a catch.. You need to pay them tips for helping you. So if you don’t feel like paying, just do everything yourself. Just that you may have a problem getting yourself a trolley if you decided not to pay. These “helpers” had occuppied almost every trolley you can possibly find inside.

And so if you decided that you should hire one helper, you will get the trolley, plus services. They will help you to take your luggage for you and help you all the way to your desired taxi stands.

2. Chalk-labelled Luggage

And also, when you collect your luggage, remember to check for something. See if your luggage had been labelled? Like mine always did..

Noticed that my bag had a chalk mark? This indicates that my bag needs special attention for custom, or etc… Well, I remembered I bought many gadgets in it.. So..

3. Taxi with meters running, please?

If you intend to take a cab, I will recommend Blue or Silverbird. Always, always always take a cab that runs with meters!

4.No Rules Applied!

There is no Traffic Law.. So do look out when you cross the road..

Also when you travel out from Airport to the main city, you may need to pass thru 2 or more toll. It will be good to have small change with you to pay off these toll charges. The payment is 5500 RP for the first gate, and 3500 RP and 2500 RP for the next 2 tolls.

If you are taking bluebird or other taxi services, the drivers expect you to pay the toll charges first.
