FU! Telkomsel!

To whom it may concern,
this is a very angry customer complaining about your service.
I have a plan with you, telkomsel. And, I travel very often to Singapore. This trip, I am having a one week stay. So against my better judgement, your repeated, 4 – 6 times sms A Day finally got me to “register for data roaming”. On top of this, I even register for a unlimited BIS data plan for 3 days.
Before everything, do you have any darn ideas how much it cost to send that many sms as advertisement?? Even if that’s free of charge, its very very VERY annoying. And I really doubt those were free. Oh come on, what are we talking about. It’s telkomsel. Over-price plan and under-performing services. The only thing I stick to you guys is that you have more cell towers in Indonesia, comparing to other services.
So all you do is to bug your customers to pay for more money. Here I have, already 350,000 RP (+- 40 USD) in your pocket. Thinking that I will have a better service after all these money.
Guess what? Now, my blackberry just could not connect. AT ALL. Now, I did all the hardware reset, re-registering and blah blah blah. Resend Service Book, CAN NOT. Before these, my BB was working fine. After paying more money, my bb is no good to me.
It is Singtel? I don’t know. It is Telkomsel, I don’t know. It is my BlackBerry, for sure NO. 2 days ago, my BB can still message my friends back in Indonesia.
What I want? Simple. As your customer, I spent about 120 USD a month on your extremely over-rated and highly expensive blackberry plan. FOR 2 FREAKING YEARS. Do your math and tell me if I deserve some decent answers from you guys on, WTF is actually going on?
Now, what I really want? I want to give you both of my middle fingers. The very first thing I do when I get back to Jakarta, is to get a XL or Indosat BlackBerry service to replace you. FOREVER.
FU. Seriously. FU guys.

Big corporation’s training supports in Indonesia..

… are just so wrong!

It’s a long story, but I shortened it to a few points:

a. Training Support are inadequate and poor quality

b. Pay lip-services but no action

And lastly, (c) no initiative and fingers-pointing…

Let’s start off by asking a question: “Do you consider a 15 mins powerpoint product introduction as training?

In this short powerpoint, the “head of training” briefly describe the various products to you. Most of the time, he lingered between different colors (still the same product). He bothered to waste your time showing a table filled with small letters of technical specifications.. Then the next thing, a open book test.Yes, that my friend, is one training done. The “head of training” now can proudly write that down on his training quota and account. I cannot imagine what is included in his report to the management? The trainee were delighted to have training? The feedback were awesome? The training is very effective? Now I know how Superman gets away with just a pair of glasses.

The notes given were just slides printing directly from the powerpoint. And in the first place, the training shouldn’t be conducted in powerpoint too. How can you conduct a product training in powerpoint? Can I sell a product by leaving a it on the display windows and place a product specifications next to it? The answer is obvious. Why all retail stores have demonstration displays for customers to try their hands on etc.

No hands on, no interactions, no questions, no role plays, nothing.

I’m in lost of speech when I went thru that kind of training session twice. And here I am, asking myself why my staff from a particular department are not performing well in their product knowledge and selling skills.

Whenever we feedback on certain issues, their standard answer is “Thanks William for your constructive feedbacks, we will look into it.” Then nothing happened. They have absolutely no intention to improve their work quality, leaving things as they were. Half a year later, we will see the same powerpoint with different names and specs. Same type of “training”, nothing more. Now if something DO happened, they will jump to point “c”, fingers-pointing.

Don’t Just Think Apple…

Telkomsel Sucks

I always joked about Telkomsel. Simple, their price plan is over-price, their customer care don’t really care, and their service and network is the slowest. And most importantly, they “scr*wed” their post-paid customers.

It’s not new. If you dig in deeper, most user in Indonesia felt like 2nd class citizen if they use a post-paid services. While the rich don’t mind paying more for less (in this case, I am pointing all fingers to telkomsel), they continue to pay because they don’t want the hustle to buy prepaid care etc.

If you are new to Jakarta, be it employment or a 14 days tour, get a prepaid service. I make it simple, get anything beside telkomsel. They have this mobile broadband called “Telkomsel Flash”.. They claimed it is the fastest blah blah blah.

Their marketing vs my real-user experiences. Your call. Nonetheless, I am going to make it easier for you to choose. I post a video capturing their network “connected”, trying to download a very small PDF file. And just play it. See how “FAST” their SPEED really is..

And yo, telkomsel.. Suck it! I am giving you two middle fingers high-up! This for what you get for cheating your customer’s time and money:

iDVD for DVD Piracy?

Bought some dvds from Mangga Dua stores, and of course, pirated DVDs. Well, since everywhere is selling pirated dvds, it seems stupid to ask for original. Now, even authentic stores sells limited range of titles.

Bought Smallville, was quite surprised when I saw the dvd menu.. It looked like.. I looked like the themes I have in my iDVD (Mac)…
